Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th, 1980) is an American performer, actor as well as a dancer. Her first Broadway performances, she starred in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. For her role as Essie In You Can't Take It With You she won the Tony Award. Tony Award-winning actor Annaleigh Ashford has spent the majority of her career working alongside renowned actors and directors across the stage, film and TV and she is continuing her award-winning project with various upcoming ones. Ashford is scheduled to be starring alongside Kumail Nanjiani, as Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It will premiere on 22nd November. Ashford's current film includes the Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust which he is starring in with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. This film is part of a Hulu Original and will be streamed via Disney DTC. Ashford, who will appear alongside Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in the March 2023 revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. This production will be directed by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team that created Hamilton. Ashford was Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, which is based on the scandal which involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp during the national crisis. For two seasons, she was a star of CBS's hit comedy B Positive. In addition, she appeared on the popular series developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, that starred the legendary actresses Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. A veteran of Broadway Ashford has won both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her role as Essie. Additional Broadway credits for Ashford include Sunday in the Park, as George Wicked legally Blonde, and her role as Lauren In Kinky Boots. For this role, she earned the Tony Award nomination. Ashford is a native of Denver. She was born and born in Denver and now lives living in Los Angeles and New York.
