Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American performer, actress and songwriter for several years. Sara Ramirez was brought up by an American mother, and faced a lot racial taunts, which caused her to feel uncomfortable. When she attended a 9th grade school audition where she was praised for her singing, she started to build confidence. She not only gained confidence from the experience however, she also re-evaluate her career goals. At 22 she was a graduate of New York's Julliard School. At the age of 23, her first Broadway appearance in Paul Simon's The Capeman, and her film debut You've Got Mail, were her biggest breakthroughs. However her greatest breakthrough came when she starred in the part of The Lady of The Lake in the original Broadway performance of Spamalot winning not just the Tony Award for her performance but also great critical acclaim. Later that year, as Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy for ABC, she gained greater fame. She is known as a performer and released her own single and an extended version of her play. In addition, she's an activist who is a tireless advocate in the fight for LGBT rights.
